WEST CHESTER, PA. — Terry Beattie, Director of Athletics at West Chester University, has been elected chair of the NCAA Division II Championships Committee. Beattie's term begins September 1, 2026.
Beattie has served as a member of the committee and steps into the chair role as part of the committee's regular leadership transition. The NCAA Division II Championships Committee is responsible for overseeing the structure and administration of DII national championships across the association's sports. Its duties include setting championship formats and selection criteria, determining and awarding host sites, reviewing bracket sizes and access ratios, managing championship budgets and ensuring competitive equity and consistent policy across all Division II member institutions.
"It's an honor to be entrusted with this role," said Beattie. "The Championships Committee plays a vital part in making sure the Division II championship experience is fair, well-run, and meaningful for student-athletes at every member institution. I'm grateful to my colleagues on the committee for their confidence, and I'm looking forward to continuing that work on behalf of our membership."
As chair, Beattie will guide the committee's agenda, represent its work to the broader NCAA Division II governance structure and help shape championship policy for the association's member schools.
