WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University volleyball quickly improved to 2-0 on Friday with two sweeps over non-conference opponents.

The Golden Rams
blanked Goldey-Beacom in the afternoon match, and they swept Holy Family 25-21, 25-20, 25-14 in the nightcap.

The Tigers played it close in the first set, but West Chester scored the last three points to take it. The second set was also close as it involved a 23-20 score before the Golden Rams secured it. West Chester lost the first four points of the last set before scoring eight straight points in the blink of an eye and winning the match.

West Chester's 27 kills were divided among six athletes. Sophomore
Julia Vreeswyk (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) had six, leading the team in that category for the second straight match.

Grace Whitney (Glenside, Pa. / Abington) had five kills, 11 block assists and two solo blocks in the win.

Jillian Borgerding (Highlands Ranch, Colo. / Highlands Rich) also stuffed the stat sheet with 19 assists, seven block assists, five kills and five digs.

West Chester forced 31 errors on Holy Family as the Tigers recorded a .000 team hitting percentage.
