Golden Rams Drop Road Contest At Millersville, 65-44

Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - West Chester University women's basketball lost 65-44 at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division opponent Millersville University on Wednesday night.
 
The Golden Rams fall to 7-12 overall and 5-9 in PSAC play while the Marauders improve to 7-12 and 4-10. West Chester remains in sixth place in the PSAC East with eight games remaining on its regular season schedule. Six teams from each division clinch a spot in the PSAC playoffs. West Chester has made the PSAC tournament in all of head coach Kiera Wooden's previous five seasons leading the team.
 
Millersville took a 9-0 lead in the first 3:12 of Wednesday's contest. The Golden Rams battled back, and a three-pointer by WCU freshman Leah Johnson (Columbus, N.J. / Notre Dame) had them down 22-15 at the end of the first quarter. Nonetheless, the Marauders gained control in the second quarter and maintained a double-digit lead for the vast majority of the second half.
 
Johnson led the Golden Rams with 11 points at Millersville. Senior Gabrielle Troisi (Norristown, Pa. / Pope John Paul II) led all rebounders in the game, tying her season high with 11. She's grabbed 11 boards in a game three times this season. Six of Troisi's rebounds on Wednesday were offensive.
 
The Golden Rams are back at home in Hollinger Field House on Saturday at 1 p.m. to take on Mansfield University.
