PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - West Chester University men's swimming and diving took on the Dragons in the Drexel University Winter Invitational on Friday evening. It was the last meet for the Golden Rams before they compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships February 19-22.
Senior
Olivier Nguyen (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a finals time of 59.11 seconds against the Dragons. Nguyen also finished in 1:59.47 in the 200 individual medley.
Sophomore
Cade Uhlin (Lititz, PA./Warwick) competed in the 500 freestyle with a finals time of 4:54.29.
The 200 medley relay team consisted of Nguyen,
Evan Parkhill (Southampton, Pa./Lasalle), Tom Khayt (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South), and
William Gallagher (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh). They took third place with a finals time of 1:36.81.
Gallagher also competed in the 100 freestyle and 50 freestyle and completed those races in 48.47 seconds and 21.95 seconds, respectively.
The PSAC Championships begin on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in York, Pa., at the Graham Aquatic Center.
