PSAC CHAMPIONSHIPS - Day 1 Results
YORK, Pa. - West Chester sits in first place at the conclusion of the first day of competition at the 2020 PSAC Swimming Championships inside the Graham Natatorium of the York YMCA with a total of 184 points.
With the Golden Rams in the lead, Bloomsburg is not far behind in second with 178 points, and Gannon in third with 166. Clarion coming in fourth place with 107 points, Shippensburg fifth (99), Indiana (Pa.) sixth (84) and Edinboro rounding out the pack with 51 points in seventh place.
West Chester claimed three spots in the Top 10 of the 1000-yard freestyle.
Collin Pettit (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) swam is lifetime best while placing first with a finals time of 9 minutes, 25.21 seconds.
Dylan North (Airville, Pa./Red Lion) came in second with a time of 9:33.25. In sixth place,
Keir Uhlin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) completed the race in 9:39.92.
Junior
Leo Chaves (Brazil) won the 200 individual medley with a finals time of 1:49.29.
Logan Brockway (York, Pa./Dallastown) was not far behind in third place and a 1:50.74 time. The 200 IM was a breakthrough swim for senior
Olivier Nguyen (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), who finished 10th with a time of 1:53.99.
West Chester's top relay performance of the night was in the 200 medley with a second-place finish. The team consisted
of Sean Bell (Colombia, S.C./Blythewood), Jarod Anderson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring), Joao Barreto (Niteroi, Brazil) and
Tyler Hall (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), who finished with a time of 1:31.04.
The 800 free relay placed fourth with the help of
Tom Powell III (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), Uhlin, Brockway and North with a time of 6:53.85.
Day two gets under way with prelims in the morning starting at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
