Three Golden Rams Named to CSC All-District 2 Squad

WEST CHESTER, PA – Three Golden Rams were on the list of the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District 2® squad it was announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
Senior defensive end, Zach Liggitt (Danielsville, Pa./Daniel Boone), and a pair of redshirt-freshmen, tight end Thatcher Miller (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and offensive lineman Patrick Methlie (Avondale, Pa./Salesianum [Del.]) were among the honorees listed.
 
The 2022 Academic All-District 2® football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December. All three Golden Rams are making their first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District 2® squad, formerly known as CoSIDA Academic All-America® program.
 
Liggitt finished the season with 24 Tackles (13 solo, 11 assisted), 9.5 tackles for a loss with 7.5 of those in the form of a sack. He was also credited with four QB hurries, three forced fumbles and a pair of pass breakups. He ranked 10th on West Chester's football team in tackles and was a first-team All-PSAC East selection. He tied for the most forced fumbles in the entire PSAC and ranked second in the Eastern Division in sacks.
 
Methlie started all 11 games at left tackle for the Golden Rams, whose running game ranked third in the conference averaging 170 rushing yards per game while three different runners eclipsed 400 yards rushing on the year. West Chester's total offense ranked seventh in the PSAC.
 
Miller turned in a fine freshman campaign, earning a starting role early in the season and never letting it go. He finished the year with 11 catches for 262 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 23.8 yards per catch. His four TD grabs led the team while he ranked fifth on the team in total receptions. His 262 yards receiving ranked third among PSAC tight ends while his four TD catches were tied for the second most among tight ends in the conference.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
