West Chester Falls to Delaware in Swim Dual

MEET RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester's women's swimming & diving squads won four events on Friday evening. However, visiting Delaware was too deep for the Golden Rams while earning a 147-96 inside the Graham Natatorium.

Ann Carozza (West Chester, Pa./East) won the 100-yard butterfly and finished second in the 200 freestyle with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1 minute, 50.71 seconds. Mikayla Niness (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won the 50 free, narrowly missing a 'B' time. However, her second-place effort in the 100 free was good enough for a 'B' time.

McKenzie Hemingway (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County), who finished runner-up to Niness in the 100 free, won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:06.44. She also swam the second leg of the 200 medley relay that led off the meet with a first-place showing. Sam Trumble (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) and Isabella Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) were also part of that relay win. Trumble added a runner-up status in the 50 free while Kil was second in the 200 individual medley.

Divers Evie Altland (Middletown, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) and Zoe Gillen (York, Pa./Dallastown) each finished fourth off the 1-meter and 3m springboard competitions.

West Chester is off until it travels to Lynn University in Florida over the semester break.
