PROVIDENCE, RI – Season bests on the balance beam and the uneven bars led to a new school record overall as the West Chester University women's gymnastics squad placed third at the inaugural Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Championships inside the Pizzitola Sports Center on the campus of Brown University Saturday night.
West Chester scored a 195.25 overall, marking the first time in school history that the Golden Rams eclipsed 195. It topped the program's previous best of 194.4 at home against Springfield in 2017. West Chester put up a season-high 48.975 on the uneven bars and a season-best 48.8 on the balance beam to push that overall score north of 195.
