Men's Track & Field Finishes Competition At Morgan State Legacy Meet

BALTIMORE, MD
- Three Golden Rams cracked the Top 10 in school history while qualifying for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships as West Chester finished competition at the Morgan State Legacy Meet Saturday afternoon.

Michael Nieman (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) was runner-up in the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 6 3/4 inches, which qualified him for PSACs and ranks eighth all-time.

Andrew Puz (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) placed second in the pole vault, getting over 14-7 1/4 while teammate Andrew Bosche (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was third with a height of 14-1 1/4. Both were PSAC qualifying marks with Puz's serving as the No. 5 height all-time at West Chester.

Will Rivers (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) hit the fifth best distance in the triple jump with a leap of 47-8 1/2, which was good for third at the meet. Geraldo Medina (Willow Street, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) was fifth in the shot put.

Amare Mayo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) qualified for PSACs in the 200 with a time of 22.34 seconds, and Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) qualified with a 49.81 time in the 400m.

West Chester will send a select group of athletes to the Penn Relays beginning on Thursday at historic Franklin Field.
