Men's Track and Field Competes at Paul Kaiser Invitational

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.-
The West Chester men's track and field team returned to action on Saturday afternoon at the Paul Kaiser Invitational hosted by Shippensburg University.

In the 100, Terrence Gainer (West Chester, Pa./Downingtown East) and Nick Page (Laurel, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) fifth and sixth with times of 11.13 and 11.36. Gainer's time of 11.13 seconds served as both a new personal best time and PSAC qualifying time.

Gainer also led the way for West Chester in the 200, finishing 16th with a time of 23.15 seconds while Jude Bourdeau (Hudson, Pa./James M. Coughlin) was 20th in 23.35 seconds.

In the long jump, Zyon Terry (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) led the way for West Chester with a 13th place finish with a mark of 20 feet 9 ¼ inches.

Terry also led the way for West Chester in the triple jump, finishing in 15th with a mark of 41-5, which was an outdoor season best for him. Xander Squire (Upper Chichester, Pa./Chichester) was close behind Terry in this event, finishing 18th with a mark of 40-7 ¾.

In the pole vault, Andrew Bosche (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) led the way for West Chester with a seventh-place finish with a mark of 13-3 ½.

Geraldo Medina (Willow Street, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) led the way for West Chester in the hammer throw with a mark of 143-3 ¾, which was good enough for a ninth-place finish in this event.

Thomas Smith (Wallingford, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) set a new PR and led the way for West Chester in the discus with a mark of 109-3 ½.

Medina and Smith finished 13th and 14th in the shot put with marks of 41-1 and 40-3 ½, respectively.

Anthony Futrick (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and Jose Rivera (Ashley, Pa./E.L. Myers) finished 11th and 12th in the javelin with marks of 158-5 ¼ and 157-7 ¾ , respectively.

West Chester is currently not scheduled to compete next week but will return to action on May 12th for the first day of the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which are slated to be hosted this Spring by Millersville University.
