WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University hosts Millersville University Tuesday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field in the quarterfinal round of the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) postseason tournament.

Admission to the conference tournament is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Any student from a PSAC-member institution with a valid school ID will be admitted free. No comps or pass lists will be honored. Only PSAC passes will be accepted for admission. The winner of the West Chester-Millersville contest advances to the conference semifinals to take on PSAC West Division champion Seton Hill at Dick's Clothing and Sporting Goods Field in Greensburg, Pa. on Friday.

The other quarterfinal in the West pits Mercyhurst (13-4) against Indiana [Pa.] (12-5). The winner of the Mercyhurst-IUP game will take on East Stroudsburg (15-1) on Friday at Seton Hill.

The Golden Rams topped the Marauders twice during the regular season with a 13-10 victory in Millersville in March and an 18-7 triumph at Vonnie Gros Field in April.

Head coach Ginny Martino's 2022 squad landed seven players on the all-league teams, which were announced Monday afternoon, including the Freshman of the Year Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa/Archbishop Carroll). Lindsay Monigle (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen), Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin), Grace Frasso (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) and goalkeeper Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) were all first team picks. Helen Kreschollek (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) and Julia Rossi (Hamilton Square, N.J./Notre Dame) were the second teamers.

Monigle posted five points (2G, 3A) in the first meeting between the two teams and added another nine points (3G, 6A) in the second meeting. Barnett scored five times in game two and Stanislawczyk scored four. Kreschollek had a four-goal game in the first meeting for the Golden Rams.

Millersville put six players on the all-league teams led by attacker Amanda Juliano and defender Mary Cait Dorley on the first team. Midfielder Gillian Zimmerman and goalkeeper Morgan Scott highlighted four Marauders on the second team. Grace Cobaugh and Kristi Kada were the other two all-leaguers.

Zimmerman scored five goals in the first encounter and three the second time around against West Chester. Juliano recorded a hat trick the first time and was limited to just one tally the second time.

West Chester is in search of its fourth straight conference crown and 25th overall this week. The Golden Rams won the PSAC title in 2018, 2019 and 2021. There was no championship tournament in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. West Chester has not won four straight conference crowns since its five-year streak from 2004 to 2008.

The Golden Rams faceoff against Millersville for the fifth time in the postseason. All four previous postseason meetings were in the PSAC Championship Game in 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2001. West Chester is making its 22nd consecutive PSAC Tournament appearance and 34th overall.
