LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its women's tennis All-Conference honorees on Friday afternoon and West Chester was well represented as West Chester saw four of its singles players earn All-League status as well as two doubles pairings.
As a team in the 2021-22 season, West Chester made its return to the PSAC Tournament for an impressive eighth year in a row and the ninth time in Tharp's tenure at the helm of the Golden Rams before falling to eventual PSAC Champion in the Conference Semifinals at Bloomsburg last Friday.
Elaina Lee (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), Davica Massaro (Medford, N.J./Shawnee), and
Alyssa Skulsky (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) all earned Singles First Team All-League honors while newcomer
Yuno Oe (Yokohama, Japan/Nihon University Senior High) earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
The first doubles pairing of
Tori Alexander (Norristown, Pa./Spring Ford) and Massaro along with the second doubles pairing of Lee and
Gabriella Lerario Dos Santos (Sao Paolo Brazil/Colegio Dante Aligheri) both secured First Team honors in doubles.
Lee, Massaro, and Skulsky all completed unbeaten runs through PSAC East play, going 6-0, 5-0, and 6-0, respectively in league singles action. Overall, Lee and Massaro went 10-8 and 10-6 in singles action primarily playing in the third and second singles spots while Skulsky was an impressive 14-4 in singles, primarily playing from the sixth singles position.
The duos of Alexander and Massaro and Lee and Lerario Dos Santos were difficult to beat throughout the year going 12-4 and 11-7 from the first and second doubles spots on the year while going 5-0 and 4-1 in league doubles matches throughout the regular season.
Oe, who was the final All-Conference honoree for the Golden Rams, earned Second Team honors after going 7-7 in the fourth singles spot overall while going 5-1 in conference singles matches in her first semester with the Golden Rams.
