SHIPPENSBURG, PA – West Chester University hits the road once again for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) showdown at Shippensburg University Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Golden Rams (3-2, 1-1 PSAC East) are looking to put together their first winning streak of the season, after trading wins and losses through the first five weeks of the season. Shippensburg (1-4, 1-1) is coming off a one-score loss to conference favorite Shepherd last week, which followed a shutout win over Bloomsburg the week before.
West Chester is also looking to end a personal two-game losing streak to Shippensburg. The Golden Rams have not beaten the Red Raiders since 2019. Sean Henry (Reading, Pa./Exeter) booted a 34-yard field goal in the first overtime, and the Golden Rams' defense held, en route to a 24-21 victory over Bloomsburg. It marked the first overtime win for West Chester since 2010. The special teams was just that in the win over Bloomsburg.
D'Shaun Seals (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was the first time that West Chester did that since 2021.

Dayshawn Jacobs (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) ranks third in the PSAC in kickoff returns, averaging 34.7 yards per return. He is the only kick returner in the Top 4 that does not have a TD on a return. In fact, he is one of only two kick returners in the league that is averaging over 30 yards a return without a TD.
Shippensburg hung tough against 2022 NCAA Division II national semifinalists Shepherd in a PSAC Eastern Division battle Saturday at Ram Stadium, losing 30-23. The Raiders freshman Sam Stoner made a positive impact in what was his first collegiate start at quarterback, converting 19-of-35 passing attempts for 272 yards and rushing for a pair of touchdowns. Junior Jaxson Montross also helped keep the scoreline close, converting three field goal attempts of 40-or-more yards.
