West Chester Still Second After Second Day at Total Performance Invitational

GAMBIER, OHIO – Keeley Durkin (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle, and the 200 medley relay also finished second to lead West Chester University's women on the second day of the Total Performance Invitational inside the Kenyon Athletic Center Friday night.
 
In all, the women hit five NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships  'B' qualifying times en route to another productive evening in the pool. Kenyon still leads the field of eight schools with 1,706.5 points with West Chester in second with 862.5.
 
Durkin touched the wall in 1 minute, 50.64 seconds to post her 'B' time qualifier. Teammate Mikayla Niness (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was fourth, but also hit a 'B' time of 1:52.37. Danielle Stewart (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) was also seventh.
 
The 200 medley relay team consisting of Lila DiCarlo (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity), McKenzie Hemingway (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County), Isabella Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) and Samantha Trumble (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) put up a time of 1:44.11 to place second. Hemingway also placed third in the 100 breaststroke to lead all Golden Rams to the wall. Her time of 1:03.33 was 'B' time, along with teammate Maddy Koehle (State College, Pa./State College Area), who was fourth in 1:03.54. DiCarlo was fourth in the 100 backstroke in 56.29 seconds.
 
Sophia Gerhart (Spring Mills, Pa./Penn Valley Area) was third in the 400 individual medley in a 'B' time of 4:25.26.
 
The third and final day of competition at the Total Performance Invitational gets under way in the morning with prelims at 10 a.m. and the finals at 6 p.m.
