MEET RESULTS
GAMBIER, OHIO – Six Golden Rams posted NCAA 'B' cut qualifying times to lead West Chester to a second-place showing at the Total Performance Invitational Saturday night inside the Kenyon Athletic Center.
Mikayla Niness (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won the 100-yard freestyle with a 'B' time of 51.14 seconds. Teammate
McKenzie Hemingway (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) also posted a 'B' time in the 100 free, finishing fourth in 51.58 seconds.
Samantha Trumble (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) put up a 'B' time in the 100 free during the morning session. Her time of 51.81 seconds was the third-best of the prelims. She finished eighth in the evening.
Madelyn Koehle (State College, Pa./State College) finished runner-up in the 200 breaststroke with a 'B' time of 2:15.42. The other two 'B' time swims of the evening session belonged to distance specialist
Keeley Durkin (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) in the 1650 free and
Sophia Gerhart (Spring Mills, Pa./Penn Valley Area) in the 200 butterfly. Durkin placed third overall in the mile, touching the wall in 17:05.42 while Gerhart touched out in 2:04.58 in the 200 fly.
The Golden Rams' 400 free relay team consisting of Niness, Hemingway, Trumble and Durkin placed second in 3:25.29.
West Chester will be back in action the weekend after Thanksgiving when it travels to the University of Delaware for a 5 p.m. meet on Friday, Dec. 1 inside the Rawstrom Natatorium at Carpenter Sports Building.
