Kendall DiCamillo Named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, PA - West Chester University sophomore defender, Kendall DiCamillo (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division defensive athlete of the week it was announced by that organization Tuesday afternoon.

DiCamillo grabbed nine ground balls, caused seven turnovers, scooped up one draw control and registered one assist in West Chester's two wins last week. More importantly, she was a big reason that the Golden Rams shut out Shippensburg (21-0) and held the Raiders to just 10 shots - only one of those on goal. Her stifling defense against Bloomsburg led West Chester to an 18-8 victory. She picked up six ground balls and caused six turnovers in that win.

The local product is the third defensive player from West Chester to be honored in the conference weekly awards and the sixth overall. That makes it six of the eght weeks this season that West Chester's women's lacrosse team has had a representative in the weekly awards. Grace Frasso (April 4) and Jessica Gorr (Mar. 21) are the other two defensive honorees this year. Keri Barnett (Mar. 28), Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mar. 7) and Lindsay Monigle (Feb. 28) are the three offensive athlete of the week recipients so far this spring.

Top-ranked West Chester hits the road Wednesday to face No. 13 East Stroudsburg at Whitenight Field at 3:30 p.m.
