Women's Track & Field Impressive at Seamus McElligott Invite

HAVERFORD, PA - The Golden Rams set the bar high with personal bests and dominant performances at the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford College Saturday afternoon.
 
In the pole vault, Kaylie Groff (Palmyra, Pa. Palmyra) placed fourth clearing a height of 3.45 meters which serves as a personal best and a PSAC qualifier for the freshman. Right behind her was Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) clearing 3.30 meters good for sixth place.
 
The distance medley relay team of Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley), Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East), Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove), and Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, N.J./ West Deptford) recorded a time of 12 minutes, 53:85 seconds coming in at seventh place.
 
In the weight throw, Adrianna Bryant (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led the way with throws of 42 fee, 6 ¼ inches and 37-10 ½ good enough for ninth and 13th place, respectively. Kayla Lockburner (Hillsborough, N.J. Hillsborough) also tallied a new personal best of 30-07 ½.
 
Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) also placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 10.86 meters.
 
Kicking things off for distance on Saturday Abigail Marion (South Abington Twp, Pa./Abington Heights) placed third with a time of 20:17:13 in the 5000m. Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove) followed that up by placing sixth in the mile with a time of 5:34:53.
 
Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:25.27. Ellie Goldberg (West Deptford, Nj. / West Deptford) placed eighth with a time of 2:32.10. These times both served as personal bests for the sophomores.
 
In the 60m hurdles, Kamryn Fontaine (DuBois, Pa./DuBois Area) placed third with a time of 10.27 seconds, and Jade Williams (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) placed fifth with a time of 10.66 seconds.
 
In the 60m dash, four Golden Rams placed in the Top 10. Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) placed fourth with a personal best time of 8.17 seconds. Right behind her was Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) with a time of 8.18 seconds good enough for sixth place and a personal best. Gabrielle Curtis (Harrisburg, Pa./C.D. East) placed eighth with a time of 8.22 seconds and Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) placed 10th with a personal-best time of 8.31 seconds.
 
Lily Palacio-Lewis (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was victorious in the 200m with a time of 26.20 seconds. Jade Williams (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) ran for a time of 27.91 seconds placing seventh.
 
In the Jumps Katie Pieslak (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was victorious in both the long jump and the triple jump with leaps of 5.28 meters and 10.76 meters. Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) placed fifth with a jump of 4.96 meters. Ozioma Ottih (Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham) placed sixth with a jump of 4.91 meters.

The Golden Rams will be back in action next Friday, Feb. 3 for the Sykes and Sabock Challenge at Penn State University.
