FRIDAY RESULTS
GAMBIER, OHIO –
Kolos Nagy and
Danny Dunigan each posted a runner-up performance on the second day of competition at the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College Friday. West Chester held on to second place on the team leaderboard with 1,012 points.
The best event of the night for the Golden Rams was undoubtedly the 200-yard freestyle.
Danny Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished runner-up while teammates
Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) and
Jacob Texter (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) were right behind him in third and fourth. Dunigan's time of 1:39.91 was an NCAA 'B' time while Demesy was just .78 off the 'B' cut at 1:40.78. Texter also narrowly missed the cut with a 1:40.86.
West Chester's 'A' squad in the 200-yard medley relay placed third overall with a time of 1:28.91 while its 'B' squad finished 11th in 1:32.12.
Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) placed third in the 100 butterfly in 49.04 seconds while
Joel Dunnigan (York, Pa./Dallastown) was ninth in 49.77. Fink also placed third in the 100 backstroke in 49.02 seconds.
Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) was runner-up in the 400 individual medley while
Ryan Lee (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) was fifth. Nagy's time of 3:51.20 was good for an NCAA 'B' time. Lee touched the wall in 3:59.88.
Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown) was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 55.25 which was good enough for an NCAA 'B' time.
Kai Hang (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) was sixth in 56.07.
The 800 free relay finished out day two for West Chester on Friday night. The Golden Rams' 'A' squad placed second in 6:37.66.
West Chester finishes up at the Total Performance Invitational on Saturday morning with prelims in 200 backstroke, 100 free, 200 breaststroke and the 200 butterfly. The 1650 free will also be contested on Saturday.
