Walker Named PSAC East Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its men's basketball weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and Joshua Walker (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week.

This marks the second time this month that West Chester has had a PSAC East Athlete of the Week award winner after Dylan Blair was recognized by the league office earlier this month.

Walker has been excellent over the last three games for West Chester, including a 25-point/15-rebound double-double vs Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon. On December 14 at Caldwell, Walker led West Chester in scoring with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, nine rebounds, and four assists to lead the Golden Rams to a hard-fought 80-76 victory over the Cougars. On Tuesday at UPJ, Walker recorded what at the time was a new season-high for rebounds with 13, while also coming away with a pair of blocks and a steal to go along with five points offensively for the Golden Rams. Walker finished 2024 with his best performance of the year and perhaps one of the best of his career as the senior scored 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting, which served as a new season-high, while securing a career-high 15 rebounds in the victory over the Griffins.

West Chester will jump into PSAC East play right away in 2025, beginning with a visit to Shepherd on Friday, January 3, before hosting Lock Haven on Monday, January 6.
