Last Time Out
West Chester took to the road this past weekend for three matches in the Garden State, visiting Caldwell on Saturday afternoon before playing in a tri-match at Felician against the Golden Falcons and St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. West Chester rolled to a 3-0 victory over Caldwell to get the weekend underway before beginning its Sunday with another 3-0 victory over Felician. The Golden Rams wrapped up the weekend with a 3-1 win over STAC. Anna Richardson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) and Zoe Haines (York, Pa./York Suburban) both had big weekends for West Chester as Richardson led the team in kills with 10, while Richardson tied with Haines for the team lead in the win over STAC with 11. Haines led the way vs Felician, finishing with 12 kills, while Richardson chipped in nine of her own. Lacie Brown (York, Pa./York Suburban) was a big storyline this weekend as well, logging 30 or more assists in all three matches (34 vs. Caldwell, 33 vs. Felician, and 40 vs. STAC) while also recording four aces vs. Caldwell, 12 digs vs. Felician, and 10 more digs vs STAC.
It's a Streak
West Chester halted its losing streak last weekend and is now carrying a three-game winning streak into its first PSAC East match of the year.
In PSAC Openers
West Chester is unbeaten in its first match of PSAC play since 2019 when the team opened league action with a 3-2 loss at Seton Hill. West Chester has not lost its first PSAC match against an Eastern Division opponent since that season, when the team also opened East play with a 3-0 loss to Millersville in Hollinger on October 15.
We Are Honored
Lacie Brown became the first West Chester women’s volleyball player to receive PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors this season earlier this week, being recognized for her stellar efforts over the weekend. Brown averaged 35.6 assists per match over the weekend while also registering 13 digs, 10 kills, and four aces.
Series History
West Chester holds a 35-31 lead in the all-time series vs Millerville, including a 24-7 lead in the series since 2007. West Chester and Millersville split the series a year ago, with both sides claiming a victory on their home courts. This victory halted a five-match winning streak for the Golden Rams, dating back to the 2021 season.
