Cheerleading Competes at 2025 UCA National Championships

ORLANDO, Fl.- With the start of the new semester now just days away, the West Chester University cheerleading team returns home from its annual trip to the Sunshine State, where the Golden Rams competed in the Universal Cheerleaders Association Collegiate National Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

After capturing its first National Championship in the Open All-Girl Game Day competition last year, West Chester moved into a new Division in 2025, competing in the Division I All-Girl Game Day Division for the first time in 2025.

"I am so extremely proud of our student-athletes for all their hard work and dedication to our program," opened head coach Autumn Hudson. "In my eight years of coaching, I have never had the privilege to work with a group of athletes who have demonstrated this level of tenacity and grit."

Competing against a host of Division I and some of the top Division II programs, the Golden Rams advanced to the Saturday night finals after an excellent performance in the semifinals on Friday afternoon, registering a 95.6 team score with no deductions to place third out of the 22 teams that competed in the semifinals.

West Chester competed in the finals on Saturday night and finished just shy of bringing home their second consecutive National Championship.

"Although this was not the outcome we had hoped for, the team is hungry to start working for 2026," said Hudson. "We look forward to next season when will once again be competing in the Game Day division, while also expanding to showcase our talents in the traditional division. This expansion will provide the team with the opportunity to showcase two routines at Nationals," concluded Hudson.
