WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University and Director of Athletics, Terence F. Beattie, announced the hiring of Autumn Hudson as the school's cheerleading head coach. Hudson was promoted to the head coaching position after spending this past school year as the interim head coach of the Golden Rams' cheerleading squad.
"I am very thankful to be part of the WCU family again this season," Hudson said. "The passion, talent, and dedication of this team is truly unmatched. I can't wait to build on the excellent foundation that this program has and continue pushing the boundaries of excellence as we take on this new season together."
Hudson brings seven years of experience to West Chester University. Including her role last year at the school, she spent three years at Drexel University (2021-2024) and three more at Ursinus College (2019-2022). She also has six years of experience coaching cheerleading at the high school level at Norristown HS.
"I am excited to officially welcome Autumn as the leader of our cheerleading program," Athletics Director Terence Beattie said. "Autumn has served as our interim cheerleading coach since August and has shown excellent leadership throughout this year. After conducting a search for the position, she certainly rose to the top and I look forward to having her join our staff officially."
Hudson guided West Chester's cheerleading program through the fall semester and into the UCA Nationals in Florida this past January. She directed student-athletes in order to perform skills safely and enhance the game day experience and achieve the highest level of performance needed for the UCA College Nationals.
Additionally, Hudson scheduled all team events including camps, clinics, practices, fundraisers and performances to efficiently manage the student-athletes' time outside of the classroom.
