BLOOMSBURG, Pa.- After seeing its season-opening match vs Albright last week postponed due to rain, the West Chester University men's tennis team is eager to get its 2025-26 season underway on Thursday at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships at the Burt Reese Tennis Center on the campus of Bloomsburg University.
The Event
West Chester will compete in the ITA Regional Championships once again to begin October as the Golden Rams head to Bloomsburg for their annual stay at the Regional Championships. Action is scheduled to begin on Thursday and will conclude with Championship matches on Sunday afternoon.

The Matchups
West Chester has two entries in both singles and doubles play for Thursday morning.
Alessandro Melotti (Hollywood, FL/NSU University School) and
Juan Pablo Beirana Guzman (Morelia, Mexico/Universidad Internacional Jefferson) will represent the Golden Rams in singles action.
Melotti will face Filippo Buffo from Davis & Elkins in his first match, and with a win would face the winner of a match between Edinboro and Fairmont State in the Round of 32. Beirana Guzman will face Fabricio Sosa of Edinboro in his opening singles match and, with a win, would face the winner of a match between Kutztown and Chestnut Hill in the Round of 32.
In doubles action, Melotti will team up with
Thomaz Joly (Indaiatuba, Brazil/Colegio Saber) while Beirana Guzman will join up with
Ashton Bunch (Kingwood, TX./iUniversity Prep) as the other doubles tandem.
Bunch and Beirana Guzman will play the Bluefield State duo of Said Santin and Alessandro Perez in their first match, and with a win would face the winner of the match between the doubles pairings from West Virginia State and Edinboro. Joly and Melotti will face the duo of Keagan Karunagaran and Mohamed Mostafa Moens from Fairmont State, and with a win would advance to face the winner of a match between Chestnut Hill and Frostburg State in the Round of 16.
