WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University's women's field hockey will travel to Slippery Rock University Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. to take on The Rock at Mahalik-Thompson Stadium.

West Chester (10-4, 5-2 PSAC) and Slippery Rock (5-9, 1-6) will compete in a conference battle. West Chester looking to keep its hot streak alive by winning 3 in a row. Slippery Rock will look to gain some momentum heading into the late part of the season.

LAST TIME OUT
Veerle Hersman (The Netherlands) scored both goals as host West Chester shut out visiting Bloomsburg, 2-0, in a pivotal conference matchup at Vonnie Gros Field Wednesday evening. The Golden Rams limited the Huskies' opportunities all evening, making it difficult for the visitors to really get much going offensively. Bloomsburg mustered 11 shots in the game, but the real story was that only five made it on goal. Forward Genna Bush, who came into the contest leading Division II in goals scored, was held to just one shot in the game. West Chester's defense shut down the center of the circle, providing the Huskies just low-percentage shots from the wing.

There is still a lot of field hockey to play in the final two weeks with a lot more to be determined.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMS
The Golden Rams are coming off a 2-0 victory over No.5 Bloomsburg Wednesday night at home at Vonnie Gross Field. They are looking to continue their win steak to three. The Golden Rams remain in a tie with both Shippensburg and East Stroudsburg for second place in the PSAC.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
Slippery Rock will look to stop its losing streak against the Golden Rams. The Rock are coming off a 3-0 loss to Shippensburg. The Rock are led by Hutchinson who paces the team offensively in goals scored (5) and total points (10). Their goalkeeping is almost equally shared by Emily Newton and Riegling, who both have at least six games started and have appeared in at least seven contests each.
