Bartosz Brzozowski Sets School Record in 100 Backstroke

Day Two Results

GAMBIER, OHIO – Bartosz Brzozowski (Warsaw, Poland) set a new school record while winning the 100-yard backstroke on the second day of the Total Performance Invitational inside the Steer Aquatic Center on the campus of Kenyon College Friday evening.
 
Brzozowski won the 100 back in a time of 48.25 seconds, which set the conference record and also was an NCAA 'B-Cut time. Brzozowski also led off the 200 medley relay that placed fourth in a time of 1 minute, 29.95 seconds.
 
A pair of West Chester swimmers also put up Top 10 times in school history. Marti Rosell Diez (L'Albiol, Spain) finished fourth in the 200 freestyle. But, his time of 1:39.08 was the eighth fastest time in school history and hit another B-Cut time. It was his second B-Cut time of the Invitational. Diez also hit a B-time in the 500 free yesterday. Diez led off the 800 free relay that placed third in the final event of the night. Finishing behind Diez in the 200 free was Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) in 11th and Danny Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa. North Penn) in 12th.
 
Kai Hang (Pennsburg, PA Upper Perkiomen) was the other Golden Rams swimmer to hit a B-Cut on Friday. He placed eighth in the 100 breaststroke. But, more importantly, his time of 55.59 was seventh in school history.
 
Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) finished third in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:59.07, and teammate Nathan Noel (Destrehan, La./Destrehan) was fourth in 3:59.37.
 
West Chester, which sits in third place with 844 points, will be back in the pool on Saturday in the final day of the Total Performance Invitational.
