Women's Swimming Takes on Rowan Saturday Morning

WEST CHESTER, PA – The Golden Rams women's swimming team returns to action following a two-week hiatus from competition when they welcome Division III opponent Rowan University to the Graham Natatorium on Saturday for a non-league meet. Saturday's encounter marks the first meeting between the two schools.

LAST TIME OUT:
Bella Kil (Enola, PA/East Pennsboro) won a pair of races while the Golden Rams' distance event dominance helped West Chester come away with a 117-88 win over host Bloomsburg inside Nelson Field House Pool. Kil won both the 200-yard individual medley and the 200 breaststroke while also swimming the second leg of the 200 medley relay that also took first place. Lenya Ryan (Wilmington, DEL Mt. Pleasant) was runner-up to Kil in both events as well. 
 
Allie DeFrehn (Mullica Hill, NJ Clearview Regional) was third in the 1000 free while Molly Hubel (Archbald, PA Valley View) was third in the 200 breast. West Chester secured the top three finishes in four different events, including the 500 and 1000 freestyle.
 
Ditta Kowalik (State College, Pa./State College Area) won the 1000 free in 10 minutes, 48.5 seconds. Margaret Getty (Sewickley, PA Quaker Valley) was second in 11:09.31 while Amy Masciulli (Harleysville, PA Souderton) was third. Masciulli also placed second in the 200 butterfly.
 
Greta won the 500 free (5:16.92) and Kowalik was second (5:17.61). Getty placed third (5:28.11). Michalina Jasinska (Warsaw, Poland) won the 200 backstroke

SCOUTING THE PROFS
The Profs (2-1) are led by Ella Pennington, who took home first place in three events in their last meet. The senior placed first in the 100 back (1:03.64), 200 back (2:20.42) and 100 butterfly (1:03.97). In addition to winning the events, Pennington's times in the 100 back and 200 back were new facility records. Kaitlyn Crouthamel tied for first in the 400 free (4:35.16) while taking home second in the 200 IM (2:27.97). Rhylee Cornell also turned in second place finishes in the 100 breast (1:15.42) and 200 breast (2:45.01).

West Chester will travel to Gambier, OH to compete in the Total Performance Invitational November 20-22.
