YORK, Pa.- The West Chester University women's swimming team wrapped up its 22
nd PSAC Championship and 18
th in 19 seasons on Thursday evening at the Graham Aquatic Center, finishing the week with 1,329 points, capturing the Championship by nearly 300 points.
With tonight's Championship, West Chester continues its historic run of winning each Championship in which it has competed since 2007, with the lone exception being the Championship held during the COVID-19 Pandemic when the Golden Rams did not compete.
Bloomsburg took second with 1,052 points followed by Indiana (Pa.) in third with 906.5, Clarion in fourth (884), and Millersville (623) in fifth. Gannon took sixth with 594 points followed by Edinboro (575), ESU (502.5), Shippensburg (493), Kutztown (351), California (286), and Lock Haven (170).
Dani Stewart (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) started things off for West Chester with a second-place finish in the 1650 free in 17 minutes and 24.82 seconds, while
Ditta Kowalik (State College, Pa./State College) took fourth in 17:27.05.
Sam Trumble (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) followed this up with a fifth place finish in the 100 free in 51.50 seconds, while
Anna Evans (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) led the way in the 200 back, placing second in 2:04.52.
Madelyn Koehle (State College, Pa./State College) captured the 200 breast in 2:17.21, while
Lenya Ryan (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) took second in 2:21.55.
West Chester wrapped up its 22
nd PSAC Championship with a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay as the quartet of
Susana Ungo Quero (Madrid, Spain), Bella Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro), Sam Heiland (West Chester, Pa./East), and Trumble touched the wall in 3:27.84.
