HAVERFORD, Pa.- Katie Pieslak (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) was a double winner to help lead the West Chester University women's track and field squad at the Keogh Invitational this weekend.
Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won the 60 meters with a time of 8.04 seconds, while
Morgan Pera (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and
Cate Hildreband (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South) claimed the top-two spots in the 60-meter hurdles with times of 9.50 and 9.57, respectively.
Lily Palacio Lewis (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) led five Golden Rams in the top five of the 200 with a time of 26.09, while
Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) was second (26.51), Larsen was third (26.60),
Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) was fourth (27.44) and Hildreband was fifth in 27.77 seconds.
Marquis also won the 400 in 1:00.47.
Jenell Moebius (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) took 11
th in the 800 in 2:37.15
Jade Salmon (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) and
Katie Pieslak (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) posted field event victories in the high jump and long jump and triple jump with marks of 5 feet 2 ¼ inches (1.58m), 17-3 ½ (5.27m), and 35-0 ¼ (10.67m), respectively.
Zhayria Washington (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) led West Chester in the shot put and weight throw, finishing third in the shot put with a mark of 37-6 ½ (11.44m) and second in the weight throw 50-5 ½ (15.38m).
Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) took third in the weight throw with a mark of 46-0 (14.02m) and fourth in the shot put 37-1 (11.30m), while
Adrianna Bryant (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) took fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 43-7 ¾ (13.3m).
West Chester took fourth in the 4x400 relay in 4:41.73.
West Chester will be back in action next weekend at the PSAC Indoor Championships at Lehigh on March 1 and 2.
