WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Lily Palacio Lewis (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and
Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) were recognized by the Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) as Women's Track and Field Academic All-District honorees on Tuesday afternoon in recognition of their efforts in competition and in the classroom.
To be eligible for Academic All-District ® consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students.
Academically, an undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a graduate student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
For track & field, eligibility for Academic All-District ® consideration is a bit more specific than other sports. A student-athlete must rank among the Top 50 individuals in a single event indoors or outdoors per the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) or have finished among the Top 50 at the 2024 NCAA regional or national cross country championships. Relay performances cannot be a sole determinant of eligibility.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 15, 2025 (women) and July 16, 2025 (men).
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
Both USTFCCA All-Region honorees in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, Hummel and Palacio Lewis both enjoyed excellent 2024-25 seasons in competition for West Chester.
Hummel, the PSAC Indoor Pole Vault Champion, set a new outdoor in program record for WCU early May as she cleared a mark of 12 feet 5 ½ inches (3.80 meters) in a Last Chance Meet and finished fifth in the pole vault at the PSAC Championships. Hummel narrowly missed a spot in the field at the National Championships in Pueblo, Colorado.
Palacio Lewis set new program records and won the 100 and 200 at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in times of 11.89 and 24.12, respectively. This came on the heels of her earning All-League honors in the 60 and 200 at the Indoor Championships in 7.72 and 25.43 seconds, respectively.
