SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- Zhayria Washington scored the first points of the 2025 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships for West Chester with a fourth-place discus (134 feet 1 inch; 40.88 meters) finish on Friday afternoon at Slippery Rock. Washington picked up five points for the Golden Rams on day two as West Chester is now 12
th on the team leaderboard heading into the final day of competition on Saturday. West Chester will have ample opportunity to add to its total on Saturday with a number of finals qualifiers, including the 4x100 relay, 100, 100 hurdles, and 200.
Amanda Marquis finished 11
th in the heptathlon with a score of 3,886 points, including a second-place finish in the 800 in two minutes and 29.96 seconds and a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet 8 ¾ inches (5.10m). Marquis also finished 14
th in the javelin with a mark of 66-4 (20.23m).
Jade Salmon took 16
th in the high jump with a mark of 4-11 ½ (1.51m).
Zhayria Washington took fourth in the discus with a mark of 134-1 (40.88m).
On the track, West Chester punched its ticket through to the Saturday finals in the 4x100 relay with a fifth-place prelim finish in 48.76 seconds.
Morgan Pera took third in the prelims of the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.52 seconds, punching her ticket to the Saturday finals as well.
Lily Palacio Lewis also earned her spot in two Saturday finals on Friday afternoon, finishing first in the 100 prelims with a program-record setting time of 11.64 seconds before also finishing first in the 200 prelims in 24.28 seconds.
