Koehle Places Eighth in 200 Breaststroke on Final Day of NCAA Division II Championships

COMPLETE RESULTS - 2025 NCAA D2 Swim & Dive Championships

INDIANAPOLIS- Madelyn Koehle (State College, Pa./State College)
earned an Honorable Mention All-American certificate in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday night on the final day of competition at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships as part of the Division II Winter Championships festival in Indianapolis.

Koehle qualified for the finals in the morning preliminaries with a time of 2 minutes and 16.00 seconds, which was eighth best in the field, earning her a spot in the A final. In the finals, Koehle took eighth in a time of 2:16.98 to earn First Team All-American honors for the third time in her career, including a seventh-place finish a year ago.

"Heading into the Championships, I was looking for a fourth or fifth-place podium finish in this event," acknowledged Koehle post-race. "As I got into the meet and closer to this race, I realized that I really just wanted to compete the best I good but also try to have fun and enjoy the experience as much as I have in the past, and I was able to do that tonight."

Now a three-time All-American in the 200 breast, Koehle shared that this latest honor was even a bit more special for her as she looks back on her career as a Golden Ram, saying, "Last time I was in Indianapolis, I didn't feel like I swam the way I could or the way I wanted to. While waiting in the ready room tonight, I realized how different of a person and swimmer I have become in these last few years, and I think that is something I can take with me for the rest of my life."

West Chester placed 26th in the field with 24 points for the Championships as Koehle scored 11 points, while Susana Ungo Quero (Madrid, Spain) accounted for 13 points for the Golden Rams.
