Women's Tennis to Face Shepherd in Regular Season Finale on Saturday

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.V.- Winners of each of its last two matches, the West Chester University women's tennis team (6-13, 2-3) heads to West Virginia on Saturday looking to finish the regular season with a winning streak as the Golden Rams face Shepherd (3-12, 0-6) beginning at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out

West Chester built off its 5-2 win over Kutztown on Wednesday with a 6-1 win over Shippensburg at home on Friday afternoon. The Golden Rams started the match with first and second doubles victories from the duos of Delaney Tingle/Alexandra Cave and Sohana Thompson/Ashleigh Grooms by 6-2 and 6-0 finals to take an early 1-0 lead in the match. In singles play, West Chester won first through fifth singles in straight sets while dropping sixth singles, although this setback was inconsequential as West Chester prevailed by a 6-1 final.

Scouting Shepherd

West Chester will face a Shepherd team that remains in search of its first conference win of the season and first win overall since a March 29th victory over Bowie State. The Rams have lost each of their last six matches, with five of the six coming against PSAC East foes. Shepherd has won only one point during this stretch, stealing a point in a 6-1 setback vs Kutztown on Sunday, April 13 in West Virginia.
