Ashleigh Grooms by 6-2 and 6-0 finals to take an early 1-0 lead in the match. In singles play, West Chester won first through fifth singles in straight sets while dropping sixth singles, although this setback was inconsequential as West Chester prevailed by a 6-1 final.

West Chester will face a Shepherd team that remains in search of its first conference win of the season and first win overall since a March 29
th victory over Bowie State. The Rams have lost each of their last six matches, with five of the six coming against PSAC East foes. Shepherd has won only one point during this stretch, stealing a point in a 6-1 setback vs Kutztown on Sunday, April 13 in West Virginia.
