Women's Track and Field Set for Busy Split Squad Weekend at Colonial Relays, Ursinus

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field squad is preparing for another busy weekend of competition as a split squad as the team heads to the Colonial Relays at William and Mary and the Ursinus Track and Field Festival at Ursinus in Collegeville this weekend. The Colonial Relays will begin on Friday morning at 9:45 a.m. and finish on Saturday afternoon. The remaining squad will head over to Ursinus to compete starting Friday evening at 4 p.m. and finishing up Saturday afternoon.

Last Time Out

The Golden Rams impressed at the Danny Curran Invitational last weekend, with many student-athletes having excellent performances.
 
Lily Palacio Lewis and Katja Larsen took fourth and sixth in the 100 in 12.48 and 12.65 seconds.  Morgan Pera and Cate Hildebrand finished fourth and fifth in the 100 hurdles in 15.52 and 15.64 seconds.

Rebekah Burnshaw led West Chester in the 400 with a 12th-place finish in 1:01.06 while Ellie Goldberg was 14th in the 5000 in 18:25.23.

West Chester also took second in the 4x100 relay in 47.92 seconds.

Annika Hummel won the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet 11 ¾ inches (3.65 meters), while Kaylie Groff was second with a mark of 11-5 3/4 (3.50 meters). Tiffany Kuras finished 10th in the javelin with a mark of 106-2 ¼ (32.37m).

Jade Salmon was 12th in the high jump with a mark of 4-9(1.45m), and  Katie Pieslak took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 36-9  (11.2m).

West Chester will be back in action next weekend in split squad action as the team will compete at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell in Lewisburg, P.A., and at home hosting the Bill Butler Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
