WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Kirsten Vanderhorst (Gambrills, Md./Bishop McNamara) fired an eight-over 79 to sit in a tie for fourth and lead West Chester in the opening round of the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational on a cold, rainy April afternoon in West Chester. Vanderhorst was one of two Golden Rams in the top-10 as she was joined by
Morgan Kunze (Limerick, Pa./Spring Ford), which helped West Chester finish third on the team leaderboard after the opening round with a 329.
New Haven holds a one-stroke lead over Franklin Pierce for first on the team leaderboard after shooting a 320 in the opening round led by Isabella Thomas, who fired an opening-round 74 to hold a two-stroke lead over Kesinee Prukmathakul of Franklin Pierce (+6; 77) after 18 holes.
