Spencer and DeHaven Land on CSC Academic All-District Squad

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Avery Spencer (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) and Ryan DeHaven (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) earned Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, it was announced by the association on Wednesday morning.

Per CSC, eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 1, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II and III Academic All-America programs. 

Spencer posted a .329 batting average in 2025 with 47 hits, including 12 multi-hit games and a seven-game hitting streak. The senior scored 31 runs and drove in 28 more and had seven multi-RBI games, including a three-RBI effort against Queens on March 13. He has also had an 18-game on-base streak and reached safely in each of the last five games of the season, finishing the year with eight walks and 17 hit-by-pitches. He posted a .955 fielding percentage and helped turn nine double plays after spending much of the season at third base and the latter half of the campaign in left field for head coach Mike LaRosa and the Golden Rams.

On the mound, DeHaven appeared in 13 games with nine starts and posted a record of 3-2 with a 5.15 ERA, a 1.47 WHIP, and a .282 batting average against. The junior was part of a month-long PSAC East Pitcher of the Week sweep for the Golden Rams after pitching eight strong innings against Molloy in mid-March, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out six. DeHaven also turned in a complete-game victory over Bloomsburg on April 19, allowing just one run on three hits and three walks, while striking out seven.
