LOCK HAVEN, PA. – West Chester University senior,
Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) collected yet another postseason and academic award when she was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Spring Top 10 list Thursday afternoon.
The PSAC Top 10 list, released at the conclusion of each of the three athletic seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring) is nominated and voted on by the Sports Information and Athletic Communications professionals of the conference. The Top 10 was initiated in the 1998-99 academic year and is awarded to those men and women student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and athletic competition.
Barnett becomes the third Golden Ram honored with a Top 10 award this academic season joining women's swimmer, Maddy Koehle, and men's swimmer, Kolos Nagy, who were each honored following the winter season. The three nominations marks the most in a single season by West Chester University student-athletes since four were selected during the 2022-2023 campaign.
Barnett is the 57th West Chester student-athlete to win the award and the sixth women's lacrosse player to walk away with the plaudit – joining her older sister, Sami Barnett, who won the award twice ( 2018, 2019). Her former teammate,
Hannah Stanislawczyk, is the most recent lacrosse player from West Chester to claim the award (2023).
Barnett, finished up one of the most impressive seasons in West Chester women's lacrosse history with 115 goals and 146 points. Both of those marks are new school single-season records. She was also named the Athlete of the Year in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division and IWLCA Division II Midfielder of the Year while earning consensus first-team All-America plaudits after appearing on both the IWLCA All-America team and the
US Lacrosse Magazine All-America squads.
She shattered just about every record in the book on the school and conference level. She finished the year second in the NCAA in goals scored and third in points as well. In addition to her gaudy attack statistics, Barnett also led the PSAC in caused turnovers and had 81 draw controls and 42 ground balls. Nobody fills out a scoresheet in so many different categories quite like Barnett has done this spring. Barnett will return in 2026 with her eye on becoming the all-time leading scorer at all three levels (school, conference, national) in her final year of eligibility.
West Chester finished fifth in the final IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll. The Golden Rams posted a 19-1 record on the season and reached the Atlantic Region Final before a loss to Slippery Rock ended their season one game shy of the national semifinals.
Barnett is one of the most decorated women's lacrosse players in school history. The three-time All-American enters her final year with 279 career goals and 345 career points to go along with 284 draw controls and 151 ground balls.
