AUSTIN, TEXAS – West Chester University senior midfielder,
Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll), was named a Women's At-Large Academic All-American® by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.50 grade-point average and have played in 70 percent of their team's total varsity contests / events while also having been named Academic All-District, which was announced three weeks ago.
The Division II at-large teams honored 45 student-athletes with eight members of the first team holding perfect 4.00 GPAs. A total of 16 of the 45 members have 4.00 GPAs either as an undergraduate or a graduate student. The 15-member first team has a 3.93 cumulative GPA. The NCAA Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, which assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
Barnett becomes the 47th Academic All-American® in West Chester athletics history since the program first started in 1983. She is also the fifth women's lacrosse player and first since 2023.
Barnett, finished up one of the most impressive seasons in West Chester women's lacrosse history with 115 goals and 146 points. Both of those marks are new school single-season records. She was also named the Athlete of the Year in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division and IWLCA Division II Midfielder of the Year while earning consensus first-team All-America plaudits after appearing on both the IWLCA All-America team and the
US Lacrosse Magazine All-America squads.
She shattered just about every record in the book on the school and conference level. She finished the year second in the NCAA in goals scored and third in points as well. In addition to her gaudy attack statistics, Barnett also led the PSAC in caused turnovers and had 81 draw controls and 42 ground balls. Nobody fills out a scoresheet in so many different categories quite like Barnett has done this spring. Barnett will return in 2026 with her eye on becoming the all-time leading scorer at all three levels (school, conference, national) in her final year of eligibility.
West Chester finished fifth in the final IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll. The Golden Rams posted a 19-1 record on the season and reached the Atlantic Region Final before a loss to Slippery Rock ended their season one game shy of the national semifinals.
Barnett is one of the most decorated women's lacrosse players in school history. The three-time All-American enters her final year with 279 career goals and 345 career points to go along with 284 draw controls and 151 ground balls.
