West Chester Field Hockey Picked Fourth in Preseason Poll

LOCK HAVEN, PA – West Chester University's field hockey squad was picked to finish fourth overall in a preseason poll of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) head coaches.

West Chester is coming off a 12-7 campaign in 2024 that saw the Golden Rams go 5-4 in conference play and finish fifth overall. Head coach Amy Cohen's squad made the postseason tournament as a result.

Kutztown, which reached the NCAA Division II National Championship Game for the second year in a row last fall, was picked to win the conference's regular season title garnering seven first-place votes. East Stroudsburg, which reached the conference finals a year ago, was picked second with two first-place votes while defending champion, Shippensburg, was slated third with one first-place tally.

Falling into place right behind West Chester was Bloomsburg in fifth place. Mansfield, Indiana (Pa.) and Millersville were picked sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively. Frostburg State and Slippery Rock rounded out the preseason poll.

The Golden Rams open the 2025 campaign with a non-conference tilt at Assumption University on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
