COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – West Chester's field hockey squad was ranked seventh in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) preseason coaches' poll it was revealed when the poll was announced Tuesday.
West Chester, which finished last season 12-7 overall, was ranked seventh in the final three national polls in 2024 and that is where it begins 2025 campaign. The Golden Rams were ranked fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) preseason poll released last month.
It marks the 12th straight week that West Chester has appeared in the national rankings dating back to Halloween of 2023. Overall, the Golden Rams have appeared in the NFHCA National Coaches Poll 64 of the last 65 weeks dating all the way back to the beginning of 2018.
West Chester opens its 2025 campaign this Saturday against No. 5 Assumption in Waltham, Mass. The Golden Rams then travel to Bentley University on Sunday, before opening its home slate next Tuesday evening against No. 4 Shippensburg in a non-conference tilt at Vonnie Gros Field.
