Men's Track and Field Set to Open 2026 at Alvernia Winter Invitational

READING, Pa.- The West Chester University men's indoor track and field squad is set to return to action on Saturday in Reading for the Alvernia Winter Invitational at the Tom & Helen Flynn PLEX at Alvernia University. Field events are set to begin at 10 a.m., with track events beginning at 10:30 a.m., with the 4x800 relay, and will follow a rolling schedule. West Chester returns to action for the first time in over a month, as the Golden Rams were last in action at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze on December 12th. Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) led West Chester at Ocean Breeze as he won the 3K at the Seahawk Shootout with a PSAC Qualifying time and an indoor program record time of 8 minutes and 20.30 seconds, which broke a record that had stood for 39 years. Miller's time was also the fastest time in the PSAC heading into the Holiday Break. This led to Miller earning PSAC Track Athlete of the Week honors. Miller was joined in the top-five by Matthew Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall), who took fourth with a PSAC Qualifying time of 8:23.12.

In addition to the efforts of Miller and Remishofski in the 3K, West Chester had a strong day throughout at Ocean Breeze to carry strong momentum into 2026.

Evan McCracken (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) finished seventh in the 60-meter dash in 6.88 seconds, while Andre Jackson Littlejohn (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) was 10th in 6.95 seconds as they both hit PSAC Qualifying times on Friday afternoon.

David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) led West Chester in the 300 with a 25th-place finish in 35.62 seconds, while Andres Albizu (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) led the Golden Rams in the 600 with a 22nd-place finish in 1:25.87.

Chris Frank (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) led West Chester in the 1000 with a 13th-place finish in 2:41.44, followed by Ryan Wack (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) in 15th in 2:43.78.

Aiden Schwartz (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) led West Chester in the mile with a 12th-place finish in 4:29.36, while Frank and Wack were 18th and 19th in 4:34.43 and 4:36.01, respectively.

West Chester finished sixth in the 4x200 relay in a time of 1:30.76, while also finishing 15th in the 4x400 in 3:30.60.

Ronald Leraris (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) finished 13th in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet 5 ½ inches (6.54 meters), while Xavier Campbell (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) was 23rd in the triple jump with a mark of 41-6 (12.65m).

Jacob Joslin (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) led West Chester in the shot put with a mark of 48-2 ½ (14.69m), while Thomas Smith (Wallingford, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led West Chester in the weight throw with a mark of 42-2 (12.85m). Smith also finished 15th in the shot put with a mark of 44-8 ¾ (13.63m).

Brodyn Wolfert (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) was 12th in the weight throw with a mark of 42-0 (12.80m), followed by Joslin in 14th with a mark of 40-7 (12.37m).
