Women’s Swimming Opens 2026 Portion of Schedule Saturday

WEST CHESTER, PA – The West Chester University women's Swimming team returns from holiday break with a noon meet this Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams head to Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa., for the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP).  
 
Please note that West Chester will not be competing in the PSAC Last Chance meet which follows the John A. Pidgeon Invitational. The Golden Rams will only compete in the first meet of the day.

Last Time Out: West Chester University had three swimmers post times under 2:00 minutes in the 200 breaststroke in addition to posting four NCAA B-Cut times and two Top 10 efforts on the final day of the Total Performance Invitational inside the Steer Aquatic Center on the campus of Kenyon College just before Thanksgiving.
 
Freshman Greta Saville turned in a stellar runner-up performance in the 1,650 free while teammate Ditta Kowalik supported her with a sixth-place showing to lead off the final night of competition. Saville posted a time of 16:53.22 seconds that qualified as a B-cut time and was the sixth-best effort in school history in that event. Kowalik touched the wall in 17:34.05 as well. Bella Kil was fourth with another B-cut time of 2:19.79 which was 10th in school history.
 
Kil and Saville also made up half of the 400 free relay team that placed sixth in the final event of the invitational. Lava Piuva and Sam Heiland made up the other half.
 
In the previously mentioned 200 breaststroke, Lenya Ryan was runner-up with a time of 2:18.24 while Molly Hubal hit a B-time of 2:19.41 while placing third.
 
Michalina Jasinska also placed ninth in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:06.80.
 
FLOCK TALK
West Chester is ranked No. 22 in the latest NCAA Division II Dual Meet rankings released by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) in December. The Golden Rams are the only PSAC school appearing in the dual meet rankings.
 
Next week's dual against the University of Pennsylvania will serve as Senior Day for the Golden Rams' men's and women's swim teams. The meet will begin at 5 p.m. at Graham Natatorium on South Campus. The Senior Day ceremony will take place before the meet.
