WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester returns home from its southern swing to open up its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) slate against Mansfield. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Vonnie Gros Field.
- Friday's contest marks the second time this year that the two conference rivals have met. West Chester defeated Mansfield, 4-0, in Northeastern PA on Sept. 13 to improve to 20-0 all-time against the Mountaineers.
- Mansfield is playing their second game of the week after hosting Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday. The Mounties (4-5) also made a southern swing along with the Golden Rams, dropping 3-0 and 1-0 decisions to the top two favorites in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), Newberry and Lander, respectively. Mansfield took a string of nine straight halves without scoring – a little over 275 minutes of game action without scoring a goal – into that contest against Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday.
- Goalkeeper, Erin O'Brien (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee), is one of six goalies in Division II with a goals-against average under 1.00. She is sixth nationally with a 0.99 GAA for the Golden Rams through seven games. Five of the six goalies are all in the PSAC as well. O'Brien's GAA is second among freshman keepers as well – behind only Shippensburg freshman Liv Schweighart (0.21).
- Back, Anna Finn (Windsor, N.Y./Windsor), ranks tied for eighth in all of Division II with a team-best seven goals on the year. Her six goals on the year is tied for fourth, but leads all defensive players in goals scored. Adelphi's Lana Mignon de Wet leads Division II in scoring with 11 goals. She is the only defensive player other than Finn to appear in the Top 40 in scoring.
- Both Mansfield and West Chester rank among the Top 11 schools in Division II in creating penalty corner opportunities. The Mountaineers rank ninth nationally averaging 8.25 corners per game while the Golden Rams rank 11th averaging 7.86 per game.
