DAY 1 RESULTS
YORK, PA – West Chester swimmers won all three individual events and also won the only relay of the evening as the Golden Rams displayed their depth to take a big lead after the first day of competition at the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships inside the York YMCA Wednesday evening.
West Chester amassed 239 points to build a 139-point lead over second place Bloomsburg. The Huskies picked up 100 points on the first day to stay ahead of third-place Clarion, who put up 99 points.
The Golden Rams placed six swimmers in the 'A' Final of the 1000-yard freestyle and cleaned up with 92 points from those six places. West Chester claimed the top four spots in the finals.
Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) made it four straight conference crowns in that event with a winning time of 9 minutes, 13.02 seconds. Freshman
Marti Rosell Diez (L'Albiol, Spain) was runner-up in 9:16.63,
Danny Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was third in 9:17.24 and
Szymon Kapala (Olsztyn, Poland) was fourth in 9:27.38.
Grant Schwalm (Dover, Pa./Northeastern) was sixth in 9:40.79 while
Jacob Texter (West Grove, PA Avon Grove) was eighth in 9:45.42.
Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) won the 200 Individual Medley for the third straight year, leading three other Golden Rams to the wall in the 'A' Final. He touched the wall in 1:47.63 seconds.
Nathan Noel (Destrehan, LA Destrehan) finished fifth in 1:51.23, while hometown heroes
Christian Henry (York, Pa./Central York) and
Nick Snyder (York, Pa./Central York) finished seventh and eithth, respectively, in the 'A' Final.
Ryan Lee (Camp Hill, PA Camp Hill) won the 'B' Final to place ninth overall, and
Chadd Corson (Wernersville, PA Wilson) and
Bartosz Brzozowski (Warsaw, Poland) were 11th and 16th.
Junior
Till Schroeder (Wiesbaden, Germany) was the lone Golden Ram swimmer in the 50 Free final, but he came home with the title by touching the wall first in 20.23 seconds.
Noah Shand (Brighton, MI Brighton) was second in the 'B' Final for a 10th place showing overall.
Augustus Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was 11th and
Evan Carl (Temple, PA Oley Valley) was 16th as the Golden Rams displayed some depth in the sprint event.
The 800 Free Relay, comprised of Nagy, Dunigan, Texter and Diez, won that relay in a time of 6:35.31 to claim the 40 points in that event.
Day 2 of the PSAC Swimming Championships gets under way Thursday morning with prelims at 10 a.m. in 100 butterfly, 400 IM and the 200 free. The 200 free relay and 400 medley relay will be competed in the evening session with the finals in the individual events mentioned above.
