WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's basketball team (19-6, 13-5) appeared in the first regional rankings of the 2025-26 season as one of 10 teams under consideration for a numbered ranking next week.

The Division II men's basketball regional committees released their first regional rankings of the year on Wednesday night, listing teams in alphabetical order, showing which teams are under consideration for official rankings when they begin next Wednesday (2/25). Two more sets of regional rankings are due to be released before Selection Sunday on March 8 as the committee will release numbered rankings on 2/25 and 3/4.

West Chester is in the midst of another strong season, heading into the weekend at 19-6 overall and 13-5 in league play after wins over Bloomsburg and Shepherd each of the last two Wednesdays. West Chester, which rode an eight-game winning streak into February, is 3-2 on the month and in search of a return trip to the NCAA Tournament after appearing for the first time since 2019 last March.
West Chester is one of five PSAC teams to appear in the rankings, as California (Pa.), East Stroudsburg, Gannon, Indiana (Pa.), and West Chester all appeared. Charleston, Fairmont State, and West Liberty are the three Mountain East teams to appear, while Virginia Union and Fayetteville State represent the CIAA.

West Chester will be back in action on Saturday at Lock Haven, beginning at 3 p.m.
