WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University's women's lacrosse team heads north for its Spring Break week when the Golden Rams take on Bentley University on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.

West Chester (3-1) heads to Waltham, Mass., to face Bentley (1-3). The Falcons will face their third Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe when the Golden Rams pay a visit this week. The road warriors then conclude their five-game road trip on Saturday in Worcester, Mass., against Assumption (2-3) at 1 p.m. The Greyhounds will play their third nationally ranked opponent when the purple & gold come calling.

West Chester is unbeaten so far on this early-season road trip winning games against NE-10 nationally ranked programs Adelphi and Pace while also stopping off in Millersville, Pa., for a road win over the PSAC rival Marauders. Ironically enough, West Chester is 3-0 on the road this year and 0-1 at home. But, the Golden Rams are on a three-game winning streak after falling to Slippery Rock in the season opener last month. With a pair of victories this week, West Chester would be 4-0 in the Northeast-10 this year if they are fortunate enough to get those wins. Bentley did appear in the national rankings earlier in the season. However, its pair of losses recently have dropped the Falcons out of the national spotlight.

Senior midfielder, Sydney Wasdick ranks fifth in the PSAC and 15th in Division II in draw controls per game. She has done a wonderful job on draws this spring. She also ranks fifth in the PSAC in goals per game and 22nd in the country in that same category. Both Wasdick and Kendall Fortune lead the PSAC in Free Position Percentage (.800) while ranking ninth in Division II.

KOONS NAMED PSAC EAST DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK …
West Chester University goalkeeper, Morgan Koons was named the Defensive Athlete of the Week in the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) it was announced Tuesday afternoon.

Koons backstopped West Chester to a pair of road wins last week defeating Millersville in the middle of the week and topping No. 9 Pace on the weekend. Koons got the win in both contests going the distance each time. She made 18 saves and picked up four ground balls. Koons faced a total of 56 shots - 42 of those on goal - in West Chester's two wins. She was instrumental against Pace making five saves in the opening quarter when the Setters controlled the draws and took 12 shots. Koons made five saves in the fourth quarter at Millersville to keep the Marauders at bay in the conference opener for both schools.

 BENTLEY LAST TIME OUT …
Senior Caitlin Keenan surpassed the 100 career points milestone, but Bentley fell to No. 20 Kutztown, 19-8, in the home opener last Saturday. Keenan had two goals and one assist on Saturday and now has 36 goals and 66 assists in her career.

Natalia Dutkewych and Alexa Cazzorla also scored two goals for the Falcons, who have dropped their two contests against other PSAC schools in losing to both Kutztown and East Stroudsburg. Freshman goalkeeper, Annika Sallila, made 11 saves for Bentley in the loss to the Golden Bears.
