WORCESTER, MASS – West Chester University's women's lacrosse team concludes its Spring Break week with a weekend affair at Assumption University Saturday at 1 p.m. Â
Â
West Chester (4-1) conclude their five-game road trip against Assumption (2-3) at 1 p.m. The Greyhounds will play their third nationally ranked opponent when the purple & gold come calling.
Â
West Chester is unbeaten so far on this early-season road trip winning games against NE-10 nationally ranked programs Adelphi and Pace before beating Bentley on Thursday. The Golden Rams also stopped off in Millersville, Pa., for a road win over the PSAC rival Marauders on this long road trip. Ironically enough, West Chester is 4-0 on the road this year and 0-1 at home. But, the Golden Rams are on a four-game winning streak after falling to Slippery Rock in the season opener last month. With a victory this weekend, West Chester would be 4-0 in the Northeast-10 this year if they are fortunate enough to get a win on saturday. The Greyhounds bring a two-game winning streak into Saturday's affair after beating Roberts Wesleyan and opening its conference slate with a convincing, 16-5, triumph over American International College on Wednesday.
Â
Senior midfielder,
Sydney Wasdick ranks fifth in the PSAC and 15th in Division II in draw controls per game. She has done a wonderful job on draws this spring. She also ranks fifth in the PSAC in goals per game and 22nd in the country in that same category. Both Wasdick and
Kendall Fortune lead the PSAC in Free Position Percentage (.800) while ranking ninth in Division II.
