LOCK HAVEN, PA – West Chester University senior specialist,
Lenya Ryan (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant), was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Winter Top 10 list it was announced Wednesday afternoon. She was one of five females named to the list and one of two Golden Rams, joining men's swimmer,
Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary), was made his second appearance on the PSAC Winter Top 10 in as many years.
The conference award, voted on by the league's sports information directors, is awarded to 10 student-athletes (five male/five female) each season with those recipients having to achieve a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
With her selection to the Winter Top 10, Ryan is now eligible for the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar Athlete of the Year award, an honor given to the top overall PSAC student-athlete (male and female) at the end of the academic year.
Ryan becomes the first women's swimmer from West Chester to appear on the PSAC Winter Top 10 list since Maddy Koehle last winter. She is the 59th West Chester recipient overall and 13th women's swimmer to be so recognized.
Ryan was joined on the women's Winter Top 10 team by repeat recipients Luna Castellanos (Clarion) and Mia Kalich (Seton Hill) and newcomers Loreena Manser (California) and Madeline Newark (Edinboro).
Ryan was a two-time PSAC Champion, winning the 200-yard breaststroke and 200 individual medley. She qualified for the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships in three events (200 breast, 200 IM, 400 IM), finished third in the 100 breast and second in the 400 IM at the 2026 PSAC Championships and was part of the 400 medley relay that finished second at the conference meet. Academically, Ryan was recognized as a PSAC Academic All-Conference honoree to go along with two PSAC Scholar Athlete awards, three D2 Athletic Directors Association (ADA) honor roll plaudits and four WCU Athletic Directors Honor Roll citations.
Ryan and Nagy make it the third time that a swimming duo is recognized since Koehle and Nagy last winter and Nadia Mulder and Dylan North in 2019.
