Michak Named to ABCA NCAA Division II Atlantic Region All-Defensive Team

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released its NCAA Division II Atlantic Region All-Defensive team on Thursday afternoon and Christian Michak (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) was the lone Golden Ram honored and one of three PSAC East players on the list.

Michak played in 57 games with 55 starts and batted .337 at the plate with 55 hits, including 12 doubles, a triple, and a home run, while scoring 55 runs and driving in 40 more. Defensively, Michak was outstanding for West Chester in 2026 as he recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage as the right fielder recorded 95 putouts and four assists in his first and only season as a Golden Ram after coming to WCU as a grad transfer from Division III Marywood.

Michak is the first Golden Ram to earn a spot on the All-Defensive team since Joe Kaleck was recognized by the ABCA in this manner in June 2024.

Grant Russo (Bloomsburg) and Parker Frey (ESU) were the lone two others PSAC East players honored on the All-Defenseive team and were joined by a pair of players from Gannon (Tommy Koroly, Cainen Atherton), a pair of players from Salem (Landon McAlpine, Cody Thomas) along with players from Concord (Austin Hear) and Seton Hill (Sean Williams).

About the ABCA

Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 41 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
