NORMAN, Okla.- The Golf Coaches Association of America announced its 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars on Monday afternoon.
Yamato Kimura (Kuwana Mie, Japan/Monteverde Academy) was honored by the GCAA for his efforts in the classroom and on the course.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Kimura is one of 209 student-athletes from 77 Division II programs to earn Cobalt All-America Scholar honors.
In his first season as a Golden Ram after transferring from Lander ahead of the 2025-26 season, Kimura played in 27 rounds over the course of 12 Tournaments and posted a 74.7 adjusted scoring average. Kimura made his Golden Ram debut with a 10
th-place finish at the WCU Battlefield Classic with a score of seven over and finished second at the Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational with a 36-hole score of one over. Kimura also finished 22
nd at both the PSAC (+17; 79, 78, 76; 233) and NCAA Regional (+7; 73, 71, 73; 217) Championships.
