Five Things to Know
- West Chester enters play on Friday night following its second loss in a row after falling to Goldey-Beacom by a 3-1 final in Delaware on Wednesday evening. Goldey-Beacom jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the match and despite a valiant comeback effort, West Chester was unable to come all the way back and escape with the victory. Anna Richardson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) led West Chester in kills with 13, while chipping in nine digs, which was second best on the team, trailing only Hailey Atkins (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) with 12.
- Gwen Atkins (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) chipped in 12 kills of her own on Wednesday night and, in doing so, took over the team lead for kills with 86 on the season. Julia Kwitchoff (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) continues to lead the Golden Rams in blocks with 32, while Hailey Atkins is first in digs with 114. Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkey/Terraki) is first in assists with 159, while Brooke Forester (Langhorne, Pa./Conwell-Egan) leads the team in aces with 21.
- Chestnut Hill enters play on Friday night following a win over Queens inside Sorgenti Arena on Tuesday night for the Griffins' second win in the last three matches after starting Labor Day Weekend with a 3-1 win at Molloy last Friday night. Against Queens, Chestnut Hill won by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-20) final thanks in part to the play of Alex Crespin, who registered 10 kills and three aces to lead the team in both categories.
- For the season, Kass Kimmel leads the team in kills with 56, while Parys Boykin leads in blocks with 12. Rachel Mace leads the team in digs with 95, while Sofia Rodriguez is first on the squad in assists with 177. Sarah Allen is first in aces with 12 followed by Crespin with 10 of her own.
- After a 3-0 victory in Hollinger last September, West Chester is 10-2 against Chestnut Hill since September 2009. 6-0 at home against Chestnut Hill in this span, West Chester heads to Philadelphia on Friday night looking to halt a two-match losing streak inside Sorgenti Arena as the Golden Rams fell to the Griffins 3-1 in 2022 and 3-0 in 2024.
